Breakfast was buffet style and mostly Luke warm at best. Some cooked things cold. So bad we didn't bother on the 2nd morning.

Breakfast excellent, especially the fresh fruit salad. Room very quiet and comfortable. Within easy walking distance of Newby Bridge along a very good pathway away from the road. Was seen out onto the road every morning by the owner, making it very safe.

Lovely hotel, situated right on the lake, with fabulous views from our room. We paid for a 'Lake View' and for the extra, it was certainly worth it. The terrace from the main lounge is great - we were very lucky with the weather and enjoyed a bottle of champagne watching the sun set over the lake.
The restaurant was also very good, high quality food, well presented and at reasonable prices. The staff were attentive, polite and made us feel most welcome.
The spa is also very nice, again a terrace overlooking the lake, where you can sit in the jacuzzi with fabulous views, watching the boats go by!
With open log fires and beautiful oak beams, Damson Dene Hotel features a luxury spa, beautiful landscaped gardens and a traditional restaurant. Windermere is just a 15-minute drive away.

It was right next to the lake ferry giving easy access to other parts of the lake. Vouchers were given for the car park very close by.
there was a great path, one mile long leading to Newby Bridge, where we sat outside by the river with a relaxing drink.

A pleasantly situated hotel on the river.
A pleasantly situated hotel on the river. Our room was large and overall comfy, with a great bed. However, we found the hotel overpriced particularly foodwise which we felt was of standard quality. We had numerous negative feelings and left a day earlier. The hotel did refund a days stay which was good of them. My husband and I have much experience of hotels, Food service, customer service and felt this hotel could be so much better if they revert to first class service. I would not choose to stay there again, sadly.

The only negative was that the lakeside allowed Dogs in the hotel. I love dogs but think when you go to an expensive hotel you don’t need dogs staying in the bedrooms.
The Huntsman pub was very good for food.
While we were eating our meal there were 3 dogs running around the pub and not under control.
This was bad owners not bad dogs.
Beautiful location
The staff were very helpful and pleasant. Food was amazing. Lovely evening meal and choices were great . Lovely self serve breakfast too in the morning , would of preferred better continental selection though. Location is pretty good as you can jump on the newby bridge halt just across the road and it takes you to lakeside aquarium. You can also get a boat over to Bowness from there too. Rooms were clean and had most requirements. However duvet was exceptionally thin but did have an additional blanket we could use.
Nice cosy B&B 20 min drive from Bowness-on-Windemere. The room was warm, which was a relief after getting wet during the day. Small bathroom but fine for a weekend. There is only a big overhead shower, no handheld one (personal preference). Colin was super nice and we were able to change our BF time to early morning so we could make the most of the day. He offers a good choice for BF with various cereals, musli, fruit, toast and English BF. Parking is easy on the property. I'd stay again.
Very modern, clean and comfortable. Very spacious and every thing required. Plenty of coat hangers in the wardrobes, very comfortable beds!! Lovely luxury bath sheets and hand towels. Kitchen/living area spacious and all kitchen items required for self catering. Laundry facilities great too!
Location is very good for visiting all towns nearby.
Rusland Pool pub/hotel has a great menu and Large petrol station nearby has supermarket and Costa!
- hotel itself looks really nice and the spa facilities seem new
- had dinner in the restaurant and food was good
- guests can still use half of the pool and indoor jacuzzi while there are classes for non guests in the mornings
- on checkout the reception staff asked if we enjoyed our stay but when we started to provide feedback about the slow service in the restaurant we only got a :” oh yes, they are aware”
Everything. Oldy worldy type 18th century hotel, full of character. Lovely pub incorporated into the side of the hotel- The Huntsman Inn. Staff very welcoming on reception, nothing too much trouble. View of the garden from bedroom was amazing. Room was spacious and very clean. Swimming pool and jacuzzi very nice (and free). Buffet evening meal was very nice and plentiful. Will definitely be back.
Our stay was lovely! couldnt recommend Newby Bridge Caraven Park enough. After needing to change the date due to the loss of my Father the staff were so helpful. The caravan was lovely spacious and modern and the little touches of the bag of treats/toys for our dog and the bottles of prosecco on arrival were extremely thoughtful. This is the 2nd time i have stayed and will definately be back.
Nothing.....The staff were poor, the rates and bar charges were diabolical, the jacuzzi was absolutely toxic, stinking of extra strong chlorine, we had a family room, 2 adults and one child and we had one bath towel and one hand towel between us for 2 days, no breakfast included, so we paid for extra breakfasts at 12.50 each, big mistake, I will never stay at newby bridge hotel again...
The rooms were spacious, clean and very comfortable. The bathroom was excellent with both bath and shower albeit the shower itself wasn't very powerful. It's still preferable to having one over the bath though. The pool was a special bonus, as we were able to use it with our family, consisting of 3 grandchildren. Breakfasts were great and so refreshing to be served at the table.
The property was well placed, on a river for which we had a lake view which was lovely. Spa facility was really nice although almost cost as much as proper, don’t really think it was worth £50pp at all unless treatments already included
Location of hotel to all attractions, brilliant staff
Who are always helpful and courteous.
Hotel well equipped for all requests no matter how small. Staff go the extra mile for guests.
Went for piece and quiet and got exactly that.
A very well managed hotel and restaurant, with excellent facilities and location. The Spa and treatments I experienced were relaxing and de-stressing. The room was quiet and spacious, and had a great river view.
